Review by adamopp

adamopp This show was much more interesting for two reasons: (1) As Phish took the stage, the multi-day August high country monsoon clouds lifted to reveal fresh snow on the higher elevations of the mountains (bathed in alpenglow); and (2) Carlos Santana invited all four members of Phish to join him for an extended jam during his set. This jam is the source of the reference in the song "Walfredo" to Fishman ruining the set with his vacuum solo. It was cold and wet, we were dancing in our polypro and gore-tex, but the music was hot and the venue small and intimate.

Review by VWSAGE

VWSAGE I drove out to Colorado to see my friend and realized Phish was passing through. Ford typically sells out with guys who wear blue blazers to see bands like Santana, so we jumped the fence at the back to catch them. It had been pouring all day, so everything was really wet, no sitting on the lawn for this show.

I was hoping for Chaulkdust, but really enjoyed the short set packed with now legendary nutritious Phish goodness. Trey playing with Santana was excellent. It was a great show, and part of the reason I moved to Vail a few months later.

Review by HarpuaTheBulldog

HarpuaTheBulldog It appears, as of November 2023, that this is the latest "official" Phish show that the audio does not circulate for. It's not on PhishTracks or Relisten. So there's been over 1,400 shows since then and they all have been disseminated.

Just looking at the setlist, it appears to be another average Summer '92 Santana opener, but given that there's a jam with him, either separate or not, and there's the inspiration for the Walfredo song at this show, seems like a chance to fill in the historical gaps a bit if it ever gets released as part or as a whole.

Review by DollarBill

DollarBill No recording found again for a Santana opener set. Looks a little more interesting with Buried Alive and ATR in there. Again, not too much deviation from set lists of this tour.
