Surprised there's not more love for this show!! This one set show is a prime example of the band members completely locked in and firing on all cylinders. It's also a really unique show for a number of reasons.

1. First off, the video of this show (see link in comment 1) in my opinion is among the best footage of the band and the audience out there. If the video was not available I tend to think I might not appreciate the show as much.

2. Theme from the Bottom! Although most would not put this version at #1 on the list, this in my opinion is the best Theme From the Bottom ever. Pure bliss, and amazing chemistry from the band. Shocked this does not have a [headphone] - should be highly recommended!

3. Ghost. Also should have a headphone. Even Trey thought it kicked ass. Check out 54:54 - 54:57 of the video linked in comment 1. Trey is really digging it, and audibly states "FUCK YEAH" as the bank lays it on thick.

4. I think this is one of the only shows where Fish isn't wearing his signature mumu

5. Page looks fucked up in this show. Check about the 57 through 58 min mark of the video. Whatever he took it worked!

6. CROWD SHOTS! Epic

All the tunes in this show were played really well. One of my personal favorites.

Beautifully detailed Summer '97 playing, available in reasonably HQ recordings - a treat for fans of Phish's early funk era, though I don't remember this being a particularly funky show, as such. Just a band audibly and obviously enjoying a chance to play for small festival crowds who hardly know them, and taking the opportunity to dig into not just new material but a new *style* of play. Kind of funny when ya think about it.

I really liked this set. Taste is damn near perfect again, Water in the Sky (slow version remember) is totally worked out for a new song, the Stash is relatively concise but exploratory enough. Theme soars (there it is again, I'm telling you Taste and Theme go hand-in-hand this tour), they regroup for some a capella, and drop the fifth Ghost ever in there and act like they've been playing it for years. LxL is crisp and short-ish as well, like the whole set. At 77 minutes, and available in SBD format, this is the type of show that ten years ago I would've burned to CD and played on road trips and if I didn't write "6/22/97" on it, I would have had no idea the show date because nothing out of the ordinary happens. Yep, this is a super solid set, but there is nothing special here other than the remarkable quality of the recording and the dude who yells "YOU'RE LYING" at Trey when after Stash he compliments their city on being so beautiful. Based on the aerial shots in the video @papadance posted above, I think Trey may have been telling the truth. Moving right along...

Pretty solid set. Taste was a great opener...Stash had its moments...Theme went to a pretty good spot.

I instantly felt this is the first show that you can tell Ghost was really beginning to perform nicely for the band. They explored the jam extensively and briefly showed us whats to come in the next couple of months. Even though the actual song part still sounded a little choppy, the jam was beginning to shape up perfectly!

FUN FACT: watch the above youtube video...Trey, Page, Mike, and Fish all have collard shirts on! When was the last time that happened?!?!

More of the same setlist.

The guys are still trying to shake off the rust of all the new songs. But they also have a pile of older songs they are really into playing fairly consistently as well (Taste, Stash, Theme). It's all pretty tight playing and a pretty good quick set.

Another strong Taste. Stash is power and intense as it should be. YET ANOTHER strong Theme. Ghost has a nice jam starting with some nice "97' Jamming" followed by some hooting by Fish which is very reminiscent of the Island Tour Roses Jam.

And of course yet another LxL.

Overall a decent show with some good meaty songs shoved in.

This verison of Ghost has some unique "hooting" from Fishman during the last 5 minutes of the song - truly makes it a great version. Unfortunately, this was one of those early versions of Ghost when Trey was over-singing the lyrics. Wicked TASTE to open the set. STASH is also top notch!
