Review by Phisherman96

Phisherman96 How this is considered by many people to be a "best ever" Phish show is beyond me. It has some great moments (the "Roses" jam for instance), but overall the playing is very loose to the point of being sloppy. In particular, Trey is seriously off his game in the first set. His playing on the composed sections of "Reba" being an especially egregious example. It's so messy, I couldn't help but exclaim "WTF, Trey?" out loud multiple times. I don't know if he was taking opiates for the first time or something, but either way there's no good excuse. The jam that follows is middling at best. Overall, the boys just don't sound very "together" for the first set. The second set is better, but nothing extraordinary by '98 Phish standards. Overall, I'd rate it 2 1/2 to 3 stars out of 5.
