This was a special show and my first at the Greek. I was there with my brother. Our first concert was Prince, so the Purple Rain was especially great. We also saw the Grateful Dead the night before at Shoreline, which was the worst Dead show I ever saw (I was fortunate to see a lot of great ones!). So, this seemed like a changing-of-the-guard moment. When Mike came out to join J.J. Cale, the place went nuts. Unforgettable. I thought about this night a lot in '23 when I went back to see Phish at the Greek again 30 years later.
