Back in Philadelphia after taking in the Fall tour opening shows. Some observations:
Was my first time in Providence and I loved it. The city was aglow with color and cool architecture. The venue was accommodating and staff super friendly
N1 started out hot with First Tube which the crowd really responded to. After that, the 1st set was a bit wobbly. Fortunately it found its legs in the 4th quarter and finished strong. Loved the 2 set closing covers of Fire and Walk Away. Both served as nice exclamation points. Strong versions of Sand, BOTT, Light, PLASMA, and SYSF
While I love YEMSG runs, I found Providence to be a much easier ride. Shorter lines, less security/ticket checking, etc.
N2 was a house party from the get go. Jibboo/Stash/Golgi was hot. First Bathtub Gin set 2 opener since Mann 8/12/15 (my first show). Coincidentally, that 8/12 show also ended the second set with a blissful Hood.
I enjoyed the Plasma theme, although now I feel like every song I listen to is going to dovetail into Plasma
I loved the THX soundbites. Nice diversion from the Faceplant which has become a bit played. Also liked how they were able to make it somehow work to introduce so many different songs
I feel like when they play Turtle, Trey gets extra playful. Maybe it's the dancing, but he got very chatty after that and I love chatty Trey
The best Phish show ever is my next Phish show.
