Singer/guitarist Todd Park Mohr achieved fame in the early 90s with his blues-rock combo Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Its 1993 breakthrough album, Sister Sweetly, spawned radio favorites such as “Broken Hearted Savior,” “Bittersweet” and “Circle.” It also enabled the band to land a slot for a few shows of the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tour. At one of those gigs, 7/27/93, Mohr was among many guests who joined Phish for “You Enjoy Myself.” Some reports indicate that Monsters bassist Rob Squires and/or drummer Brian Nevin may also have been present for that jam. Just before that tour, at a Blues Traveler performance on 5/30/93, Mohr, Trey and Page sat in for a “Gloria” encore. Mohr’s band to date has not equaled the success of Sister Sweetly but as of early 2004 was still recording and touring with the original lineup intact.
