    Few female singers can match the delicious vocals of Grammy award-winning bluegrass artist Alison Krauss, lead singer of the bluegrass band Union Station and the youngest inducted member of The Grand Ole Opry. Phish apparently agreed, as they asked her to help create the studio version of “If I Could.” Allison reprised this role on-stage for one night in 1994, adding an unmistakable flourish to one of the band’s most heartfelt songs. Fans got to relive it at the 20th anniversary show on 12/2/03 when a clip from it appeared in the retrospective video shown at setbreak. In addition to her modern accolades, Krauss won the Illinois State Fiddle Championship at age twelve and was once named the Most Promising Fiddler in the Midwest by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass in America.
