Acoustic Performances

Phish has forayed into acoustic performances during four periods, thus far: 1993-1994, 1996, 1998, and 2009.

Shows & Sets: Two entire Phish shows have been acoustic: the Bridge School Benefit shows (10/17/98 & 10/18/98). Those were reported by (the old) Phish.com as "the first entirely acoustic Phish sets in a dozen years". We're not sure what the earlier one(s) was(were), though they have played one acoustic set since: the first set of the third day of Festival 8, 11/1/09.

Mini-sets: Parts of some sets have featured acoustic segments. Late 1994 featured some great acoustic bluegrass, particularly a chunk of 10/18/94 (as well as  the 11/19/94 post-show parking lot jam). Mini-stages with scaled-down acoustic setups on a riser were used at 8/5/96, 8/13/96, 8/16/96, and 12/28/98.

Songs: Parts of some songs have sometimes been acoustic, including the opening of "My Friend, My Friend" (primarily 2/3/93 to 4/10/94 ; see chart) and the ending of "Fluffhead" (on 3/12/934/23/93, 5/1/93, and 7/30/93), as well as some instances of "The Horse" (2/3/93 to 4/14/94; see chart), one instance of "Tela" (8/9/93), and, in the fall of 1998, "Driver", "Sleep", "Brian and Robert" (the latter by Phish at Shoreline, and then Trey later in the year), and "Dog-Faced Boy" (11/18/98).

Sideshows: Trey has played acoustic songs or sets outside of Phish, including on his first "solo" tour, occasionally at TAB shows, and in a mini-set with Mike on the GRAB tour. Here's a complete list of what he's played acoustically:AC/DC Bag, Access Me, Aftermath, Alaska, Alumni Blues, Anything But Me, At The Gazebo, Back On The Train, Backwards Down The Number Line, Bathtub Gin, Beauty Of My Dreams, Billy Breathes, Birthday Boys, Blue And Shiny, Bouncing Around The Room, Brian And Robert, Buffalo Bill, Bug, Camel Walk, Carini, Catapult, Cavern, Cayman Review, Chalk Dust Torture, Character Zero, Dirt, The Divided Sky, Dog Faced Boy, Dogs Stole Things, Down With Disease, Dragonfly, Driver, Ether Sunday, Farmhouse, Fast Enough For You, Feel Like Makin' Love, Fluffhead, Free, Friday, Ghost, Grind, Guelah Papyrus, Gumbo, Guyute, Halley's Comet, Hard Hearted, Harry Hood, Heavy Things, The Horse, I'm Blue I'm Lonesome, If I Could Be A Sailor, The Inlaw Josie Wales, Invisible, It's Ice, Joy, Kill Devil Falls, Kissed By Mist, Lawn Boy, Let Me Lie, Lifeboy, Limb By Limb, Liquid Time, Love Is Freedom, Love That Breaks All Lines, Loving Cup, Makisupa Policeman, The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, Meatstick, Mexican Cousin, More Pretty Girls Than One, Mountains In The Mist, My Friend My Friend, My Sweet One, Name, NICU, No Woman No Cry, Old Habits Like You Are Hard To Break, On The Road Again, Pebbles And Marbles, Peggy, Piper, Poor Heart, Possum, Prince Caspian, Punch You In The Eye, Ray Dawn Balloon, Rocky Mountain Shuffle, Roggae, Runaway Jim, Sample In A Jar, Secret Smile, Shine, Shine A Light, Silent In The Morning, Sleep, Sleep Again, Snowflakes In The Sand, Somantin, Spices, Stealing Time From The Faulty Plan, Strange Design, Strawberry Fields Forever, Suzy Greenberg, Sweet Dreams Melinda, Taste, Theme From The Bottom, Thunderhead, Timber (Jerry), Train Song, Tube, Tuesday, Twenty Years Later, Twist, Valentine, Wading In The Velvet Sea, Waste, Water In The Sky, Wave The Ocean, Waves, The Wedge, When The Circus Comes, Wherever You Find It, Wilson, Wolfman's Brother, Yellow Submarine, You've Got Me Floating,
