ocelotmockster NC native here commenting on the venue.
I’ve seen Phish in Charlotte & couple of shows in Raleigh. IMO Live Oak Pavilion in Wilmington is not a good venue for Phish. It’s too small and views are limited for those blocked by the sound boards/tent.
(I say this reluctantly bc it’s very convenient as I live only 20 miles away.)
Live Oak Pavilion accommodates ~7500 versus Walnut Creek (Raleigh) ~15-20K.
The Pavilion shut down the show bc of a lightning storm, yet forced attendees to evacuate onto the riverfront boardwalk. This caused bottlenecks of foot traffic with attendees crowded by towering metal lights in puddles of shin-deep water.
Live Oak Pavilion (managed by Live Nation) did a poor job. The following night the Darius Rucker show was interrupted & Live Oak had attendees evacuate and then return. ????
Not sure this is a good venue for Phish when playing NC.
