Interesting you mention the Kreutzmann sit-in, as I was just reading Kreutzmann's autobiography and he also makes a brief reference to the sit-in at the end. Although he says he enjoyed playing with Phish, he also mentions that he had to keep telling Fishman to hit the drums harder. Surprised to read that, as Fishman is a beast on the drums! Haven't actually listened to the Kreutzmann sit-in, but just interesting timing.
While I haven't read Kreutzmann's autobiography, that anecdote you mentioned is noted in one of the reviews of 8/2/09, and it appears that it was less that Fishman doesn't hit the drums hard (although nowhere near the degree he did in 1995, where it seemed like he had bets with the stagehands to see if he could puncture the skin with a particularly good shot) and more that Mickey Hart absolutely *bashes* the drums and Kreutzmann was more used to that. You should give that show a listen just for the experience; as noted above, it's no great shakes, but there are one or two interesting moments.

@Sporkfan, I had forgotten about the '96 Gullotti show, but I have heard it, since I enjoy 7/25/97 so much and it was exciting to know he'd played other shows with them besides that one. My opinion on that show is...different from yours.
