I never read these recaps as reviews but moreso as an encapsulation of the experience of the author, regardless of whether or not they were in attendance at the show. I believe this is a beautiful example of just that concept and, in my opinion, precisely what makes something a "recap" and not a "review". Furthermore, with all the mention of art and beauty in this recap, if you can't conclude that the show was at least good in the author's opinion, then...well...I just don't know.

Yeah I'm more-or-less with Ivy on this -- I know many fans, sometimes myself included, who experience shows as a sort of unfolding narrative, told thru song sequence, lyrics, music, set and setting. This recap playfully captures that feeling, and I enjoyed reading it. The write-up could have benefited from a little more about the music itself, IMO --i.e. are there some gems or jams I don't want to miss?-- but overall I appreciate the idiosyncratic flavor each recapper has been sharing this summer.

That said, @solargarlic78 (who's been posting in setlist comments) is a Phish.net MVP for me this tour; more review-oriented, his layman-friendly music theory analysis of each show has been a refreshing supplement to these more experiential recaps.

Thanks to all who attempt to share some sense of their experience with language--when talking about music, it's arguably a rather dubious prospect...
