kevinumberger i'm the kevin that charlie mentioned in this blog, and yes, i did tape with my sennheiser ME80's.......

at that time---they were popular amongst us grateful dead tapers...

anyways........it was a holiday inn that we stayed at......i remember that quite well, as i had a friend that worked for holiday inn that would hook me up with her employee discount....

which meant that the room cost 15 bucks a night...........and we squeezed 7 people into that room...........

when asked by some of the people how much they owed me for the room, they were shocked to hear i only wanted 2 bucks a piece from them...

one very important tidbit that charlie forgot to mention-------i was the last to get back to the room after the show........and i got back at something like 530 or 6 am (it was a late starting show, with three sets)....

anyways.........i had brought my cassette deck for the sole purpose of charlie making dubs of the master DATs and so after getting back, i set it up for him....

after a little bit, i had to pass out....

so i left charlie in charge of completing the transfers....

i woke up at 5 minutes before 11 am (which was check out) and asked charlie how much he had left to do (keep in mind, it was a 3 set show, with the middle set being the white album)...

Charlie turned to me and said "it just finished up a second ago"....

perfect timing........

said goodbye to the other folks in room, and told charlie to have fun on the rest of the tour.....
