The band is all for diversity: it is a fundamental premise of how they do business, as should be evident by the fact that basically every component of the band encourages fan participation. If you want a band that only uses one approach to a show, or only plays song versions and shows in the style you prefer or what have you, there are bands for that. If that is what reviewers are looking for, you should explore other options; Phish is not going to conform to one style that you or anyone else may prefer.
