This is a quick little acapella gem, lasting all of 5 minutes in total. The intro is noteworthy for the band's being announced as "The Phish." Trey then briefly recounts the history behind Amazing Grace. Admittedly I had not previously known about the song's poignant origin. The setting is just right for Amazing Grace to be heard clearly at strong volume, and for the crowd to not be disproportionately loud. This is a rare treat from an era in which acapella numbers generally are scarcely audible, and are followed by deafening cheers. I Didn't Know is a stripped-down version, still retaining every bit of fun that it has in a vacuum. Then it's over, as quickly as it began.
