The Attic in Greenville was the best place to catch the college circuit bands that could handle large crowds...capacity was 250-300? I saw Widespread Panic, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Indecision, Blue Dixie, Gibb Droll, New Potato Caboose, etc. there over the late 80's-late 90's.

A friend from Vermont gave me the heads up on Phish and said I had to go check it out. There were several mic stands set up in front of the board. The stage was only about three feet off the floor, but visibility was good even for me(short).

I had never heard these guys before, so I was hanging on every note. The trampolines were pretty cool, I'd never seen that done. So I was pretty blown away by the show.

I've seen quite a few since then.

Thanks Phish for the long ride!

piratephish Sweet!!! I submitted the request and had this date fixed to show that they DID play at East Carolina! Feeling like I've done my duty as a historian, a Pirate and a huge phan.

I always wondered why there was no signs of them playing in Greenville, until I came upon the flyer on the link below. I was in shock that I had discovered this piece of history and something that I had always wished had happened in my college town. This prompted me to submit a correction .NET to try to get things straight.

I missed them by about 9 years as I didn't get to Greenville until 2000. By the time I arrived, the only place to see good bands was Peasants Cafe, which saw bands like Umphrey's McGee, Brothers Past, Boll Weevil, Perpetual Groove, Blue Dogs, among others.
