"are", definitively; and no set of lyrics is "correct",
since Phish is above all
unpredictable, fond
of
antics, and subject to frequent (if not constant)
change. There are various interpretations of
many Phish lyrics. What the band sings may be a combination of some of these
interpretations. This is, thus,
not an attempt to answer every question
you have about lyrics.
Nor is it an attempt to provide the lyrics to every song. It is an attempt
to gather collective wisdom about uncertainties and present fallable answers
to questions which routinely take up bandwidth on the Phish.Net, and particularly
on the Usenet newsgroup rec.music.phish.
