I am amazed that only one guess was made in the comments for a clip chosen from the most recent LivePhish release, but there's just no explainin' the things people do. If you're not gonna do your homework, how can you expect to pass the test?! MJM273 drops on Monday, and it'll be a little harder than this week's. Answer: Congrats to @TwiceBitten on his fourth MJM win – he's crossed the halfway mark to MJM Emeritus status. He quickly figured out that the guy in the hint's picture is the (former) "Can you hear me now?" Verizon spokesman, and listed all the shows that have taken place at Verizon-sponsored venues. While that isn't exactly kosher (it's ok to discuss the clips and hints, e.g. "that's the Verizon guy," but explicitly laying out the path to the answer for others generally isn't), but it ended up being a moot point as he was able to find the four clips himself – if anything, listing those shows hurt his chances of victory! He pulled it off anyway, and correctly identified the 6/14/11 DWD, 10/22/16 Simple, 7/25/03 Hood, and 7/23/03 DWD.

Yep, all clips came from shows played the same day MJM270 dropped – on April 17th – five years apart from one another in '94, '99, and '04, with the '99 show being a Phil and Friends show featuring Page and Trey. If you've never heard that three night run, please check it out now, as it is essential listening for fans of Phish and the Grateful Dead. In fact, the video recently surfaced from all three nights: 4/15/99, 4/16/99, 4/17/99 (time-stamped to this week's clip for your delight). Answer: Congrats to @mickeyjoe86, who may or may not have gotten a little help from his friends this week in quickly winning this week's MJM, his third overall. For whatever reason, the three win mark seems to be the point where folks make their push towards MJM legendary status, or fizzle out and check in only infrequently – I'm guessing this isn't the last 'W' for @mickeyjoe86 though. After @PhreePhish flipped his cards over only to reveal the second-best hand, @mickeyjoe86 went all in on the Lakewood theme and correctly identified the 6/24/00 Tweezer and the 7/31/15 KDF, two of the finest jams from their respective years. Answer: Major league congratulations to @dbertsch, who hit an out-of-the-park, grand slam homer in the bottom of the 9th inning, off a tough knuckleball, to win his 7th and final MJM contest. @dbertsch now joins that super elite club of retired MJM winners, as only its 11th member. Welcome to the Pantheon of MJM Emeriti. As he correctly noted, this week's tracks were all covers, and included the Drowned from 7/17/13, Skin It Back from 2/20/88, Rock & Roll from 9/17/00, and the awesome Have Mercy from 10/20/10. This last clip is part of an excellent SOAM > Have Mercy > Piper > SOAM from the Guyutica show. Fans seemed to have forgotten about this show, which really demonstrated that Phish was back in good form. So check it out, if it's been awhile. Congrats again to @dbertsch. The 6-CD Boxed Set pairs two standout shows (April 14th & August 16th) recorded during consecutive tours at St. Louis’ historic 1,750-seat American Theatre.
