Trey teased Possum before the second set opener. Love You featured band introductions. Antelope included a Dixie tease from Trey, a foul-up near the end when Fish attempted to end the song too early, and Charlie Chan and Simpsons signals during the final rave-up. BBFCFM contained a Brady Bunch theme tease from Mike. Memories was performed without microphones.

kipmat One thing that set Phish apart in the years of 1989-1992 was their tight, professional presentation on stage. Both sets kick off with strong openers, and a second song that starts on the last note of the first, for a powerful one-two combination punch. And they just keep coming...

Brother features a jam that alternates between the usual rhythm and a swing waltz, which they would do again at the 11/16 Bayou show. Love this mid-first-set Harry Hood, Trey's tone is "buttery" as described. Nice Fee outro jam > Foam, and a throwback Magilla is a nice treat deep in the 2nd set.

As I've mentioned in other reviews, the band seems to have been significantly inspired by playing gigs with Col. Bruce and the ARU at this time. To my ears, the shows starting with 11/7 Tipitina's are both more confident and more ambitious than the October shows. Phish was serious about their profession and developing their fan base outside of the northeast, and their dedication paid off in multiple encores, increased revenues from gigs and merchandise sales, and a growing legion of "gawzers", e.g. "You gawz were so hawt tonaht!", Joey Arkenstat, etc.

11/16/91 Washington, D.C. is still the must-hear show from the Fall '91 tour, but this Georgia Theater show is a fun listen.

MomaDan Here are my notes from the listen:

Great brother, espcially with page on the organs
very fast tube, again strong work by page
Hood very percussive opening, amazing solo. I love this guitar tone from Trey
Interesting change in Foam/ drums opening
Nice little segue between Dinner and Stash
Fun interplay during Weekapaug jam, machine gun trey
Double encore!?
Great tone again on SOAM. The slight reverb and delay make the guitar sound so buttery good

Overall nothing groundbreaking just classic early 90's Phish
3/5 starts

thelot Another fantastic audience source from this Southern run—huge thanks once again to Rick Supan for taping and getting it out there!

Buried Alive and Golgi kick things off with a strong one-two punch to open the show. Brother is a total barn burner! Tube into Sloth is a great pairing, and the mid-set Hood is especially well played. Foam has some extra snap tonight, and Trey absolutely rips into the Llama closer—great energy.

Set two launches with DaaM, which flows straight into a fiery Stash. Page lays down a really nice solo in Coil. Groove doesn’t quite hit the peaks of the Tuscaloosa version, but it still absolutely smokes. Magilla includes a subtle All Things tease from Trey, and there’s what sounds like another unidentified tease from him in Cavern. Mike adds a cool effect during the Antelope intro, leading into a solid version with a near train-wreck ending. A strong Split Open caps things off with a rare and welcome encore appearance.
