Jam Chart for Cars Trucks Buses (5 entries)

Date City Timing Notes
1996-04-26 New Orleans, LA 4:57 Jazz Festival version with Michael Ray rocking the trumpet.
1997-03-18 Burlington, VT 9:23 Extended, jazzy jam with Dave Grippo on alto sax and James Harvey on trombone.
1999-09-26 New Orleans, LA 7:09 Guests Michael Ray (Trumpet) and Tim Green (Saxophone) propel a fun, unique take on Page's scripted instrumental. A cool interlude follows intense brass - a nice touch of Trey - before morn horns push the version to its strong conclusion. Fans of the jam should stick around for the rest of the first set, and 9/9/00's "CTB" > "Funky Bitch" similar, but different, combo.
2000-09-09 Albany, NY 4:53 Following some odd, onstage antics, Michael Ray, already on trumpet, moves from "Makisupa" > "CTB," adding extra oomph to the song's choice set changes, before the band breaks for an excellent "Funky Bitch." (Stick around for his contributions on show encore "Hood.")
2003-07-26 Atlanta, GA 7:31 > from "Wilson". This version features a cool, almost quiet section in the middle. There is great interplay between Trey and Page, each showing off as they go back-and-forth.
Jam chart versions are selected because of improvisational and other characteristics that distinguish these from typical versions of the song.
The jam chart team has highlighted some versions with a yellow background; these are the versions the team believes to be especially improvisational, or otherwise notable.
