Scents and Subtle Sounds

TweezingSpaceRanger Surprised this didn't make the highly recommended cut. It's easily the centerpiece jam of the most psychedelic second set in a hot minute

n00b100 I refuse to get over how good this jam is. Not only do they demolish the peak in the first half, the second half is so chilled and comfortable you'd think the band was playing it in bathrobes and slippers.

TweezingSpaceRanger I was up close for nights 1 and 3 of this run. This was the only night I was on the lawn. While they were playing this Scents, a fireworks show was going on over at Navy Pier. From the lawn during this jam, there was a perfect view of the fireworks on top of the insane light show CK5 was throwing down with the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background. I couldn't think of a better place to be. Especially when the jam caught fire during the 9-11 minute mark.

n00b100 Your A+ alliteration did not go unnoticed, @uctweezer.

YEPage I believe this S&SS should be changed from a note-worthy jam to a highly recommended jam. I attended this show and I believe this was the best jam of the night, greatly dwarfing the twist which seemed aimless for the majority of the jam. Not only did this S&SS have the into but Trey and the boys absolutely slayed it. This was the highlight of the show.

timrpow This version greatly reminds me of the 2004 version from Camden (even though the 2003 Camden version with the intro is perhaps the Holy Grail version of S&SS, and it shares the intro with this version whereas the 2004 is sans-intro). For me, it's that light as a feather trickle that ends up in a Class IV rapid of two pulsating notes propelling the song along to it's conclusion that gets me here. This is my personal favorite song of this second set, as great as the Twist that preceded it was.

n00b100 Maybe not as purely improvisational as the best ones from 2003, but still an absolutely kiss-fingertips-like-an-Italian-chef soo-poib piece of business from a legendary show. I won't exactly shed a tear if SaSS returns to the rotation.
