History

“Mo’ Better Blues” is a song from the Spike Lee joint of the same name (and written by Spike’s father). The song, such as it is, is essentially an 8 bar theme, though a catchy one, repeated over and over.  Phish toyed with the song on three separate occasions, all during the intro to “David Bowie.” On 9/22/90 and 11/26/90, they performed two “verses” (i.e. 16 bars) of the song, and on 10/6/90 they settled for one go-around.
