Subject: Phish on Letterman (a review) hello phishies- i would assume that by now (9 AM friday morning) most of you have either posted about the show or read a million posts about the show. i just want to say that i wanted to put in my 2 cents BEFORE reading what anyone else had to say. well, last night i waited and waited in anticipation and excitement until the show came on, and i'm happy to say that it was worth it... i prayed (literally) right before the show that they wouldn't play bouncin'. and as you know, it payed off. my friend called me after the intro to the show and said that the announcer at the beginning of the show used the word CONTACT in the intro and he was convinced that CONTACT would be the song. i didn't think so. i DID however notice a lot of horns playing with paul in the segueways between commercials and before and after dave. this got me thinking and i started hoping for a gumbo. instead, it was julius. and i was not disappointed. this was a GREAT version of julius! the horns kicked ass, and trey was having a ball. trey has to be the coolest phuckin guy in the world! he was all smiles and was more than happy to play to a lame crowd of probably 200 people. page looked like he was having phun and my (very sheltered) roommate said "who's that guy wearing the dress. jeez. these guys are weird!" anyway, i was once again amazed at the musical ability of phish. they timed the song perfectly as to allow the horns to do some solo AND for Trey to get a couple licks in. I WAS GOING CRAZY! it was pretty much a standard (but really good) julius with a mini-jam by trey! i couldn't have been happier. all in all, it was a great performance. moreover, it made me have (another) anxiety attack for the fall tour. i got all excited and decided that i'm not going to be able to wait until fall for them to tour. I JUST NEED MORE!!! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF PHISH!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! have a nice day phishies- only 105 days until the fall tour begins... pHiL
