Undermind

freshprince7386 Incredible major-key Type II jam -- easily the best version of this song. This is a great song to play for your friends who don't like Phish, as there is very little "noodling / soloing" and every note is played with a purpose. It builds to a fantastic conclusion that is completely removed from the song's structure and sounds like a song in itself.

n00b100 From a pure "hose 'em down" standpoint, you could argue that the only jams that get close to this one as far as that goes in 3.0 are the Tahoe Tweezer and the 8/22/15 Prince Caspian. That's pretty darn good company. One of the era's finest jams, and a highlight (maybe the highlight) of 8/31/12, a show that will live forever in the band's canon.

WinnipegGroove What a way to close out set one of the famous FYF show! The 8/31/12 Undermind has such beautifully unified type II jamming that it almost seems composed instead of improvised. A great version and definitely one for the ages.

timrpow Evolving out of a great Waves, this Undermind grows some timberish tree roots & swirls into a Timber Ho-Undermind hybrid, as Mike and Fish keep the song grounded in a grumbling yet building Timber timbre. Amazing version.
