Poor Heart

kipmat With a show rating below 3.2, you would think that a mid-first-set Poor Heart would be completely bland, a throw-away, but this version is surprisingly a highlight. It wasn't long after this version that Trey started just playing the intro riff instead of counting off the start of the song, so it's nice to hear the band kick off this tune together. Trey's solo starts off wobbly, but he still had his chops and shows them off a little bit, before Page and Fishman engage in some fun interplay during the piano solo. The playing in the rest of this show isn't very impressive, but the band really feeds off of the energy of the smaller theater audience. Wish I had been there.
