HotPale Out of the two MGB shows I saw this tour the MA show def. had a hometown crowd feel for Mike and a different energy present than my hometown show at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT. Don't get me wrong...the Toad's show was amazing, fast-paced and up close and personal. My friend Mark was able to meet and greet with Danny Barnes and Mike during the breaks. That show was amazing, but walking in late to the Pearl Street show and feeling like walking up that staircase was like floating to the pearly gates. That night Time was the revelator...bubbles filled the tightly-packed crowd as beers and smoke poured freely through the misty cold air. Mark Mercier was a real treat as all who jammed that night were...Danny Barnes had already left the tour and that may have had an effect on the overall sound of the night...this show was certainly not to be missed, and I'm hap-nappy I didn't! Northampton is a beautiful little town w/ several venues for great live music...if you can ever make it up there to a show try to get there early and walk around the town a bit. It's a hoot!
