The first set was Trey solo acoustic and the second set was electric TAB. Kissed by Mist was dedicated to Julia Butterfly Hill. Trey dedicated Name to the SUNY- Binghamton graduating seniors who made this show a stop on their “pub crawl;” Trey noted this same group at the end of the 2nd set and the end of the encore, which was dedicated to them. Trey performed Billy Breathes on piano. Sleep, Blue and Shiny, and Waste featured Tom Marshall on vocals. Smells Like Teen Spirit was played jokingly for a fan that screamed out the title after Trey announced that the band would play one more song; they played one verse but ditched it in favor of Silicone Fairy. Waste was a TAB debut. This gig was originally scheduled to take place at SUNY-Binghamton’s Anderson Center.

This show was part of the "TAB - The Trio"

Review by Roofless_Sheds

Roofless_Sheds NOTE: Review of the electric portion ONLY! I haven't had a chance to delve into the acoustic first set yet.

Less than three and a half years since the legendary 12/14/95 Phish show in Binghamton, Trey returns to lay waste once again. This show is hot, hot, HOT!

Just stumbled across the entire thing, stream-able on GrooveShark. Excellent audience recording, and the band digs even deeper - with more impressive results - than they do on the famous circulating SBD from the same tour at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC.

Jibboo is 15 minutes, Sand runs a gnarly 25, First Tube and Last Tube are their explosive, celebratory selves even in infant form, the covers are delivered with joy and reverence, and the crowd devours every second. It's easy to forget that 80% of the electric material was brand new to them at the time!

If you want to give a listen to a full show from Trey's first solo tour in '99, I don't think you can do much better than this one right here.

NightSpeaks Another strong show. This Gotta Jibboo is a good version, although pretty much standard. The song/jam just seems to get better every time they play it. Windora Bug gets some effects-laden extra mustard again which is cool. First Tube -> Sand should be a > in my opinion. This is the longest Sand of '99 and is worth a listen. Smells Like Teen Spirit played by audience request is fun.

Review by 4_3_98_SetII

4_3_98_SetII My first Trey solo show and it was SICK. I wasn't sure what to expect and I wasn't disappointed.
It was a very early solo Trey tour and the scene was very low key, it was really cool.
Those that were there were all sharing stories about seeing Trey out in Binghamton the night before.
AWESOME!
