This show marked the first Phish performance of Fixin’ to Die. Both To France and Fixin' To Die featured Mosier on banjo with Mosier also singing lead vocals on Fixin' To Die.
My first phish experience, went to school 5 miles from hara. I had heard a couple of phish tapes,like Nectar but my mind my was blown completely from the opening notes of helter skelter on! We (my buds from school)were front and center through the first set, Trey went onto the vibration of life and blew the top out! Chilled through the break, but as 2001 came on a huge surge of crowd rolled through the floor, pickin me up like a wave and reinserting me somewhere past Page over on the railing. Quite a feat of physics if I may say so!
A cool/cold November night in Dayton, ohio.My First show !! Helter Skelter!! The vibe of life literally took people out !!! Hold your head up!! This was at a tiny old hockey barn..GA on the floor. the Encores were amazing..Id never seen a show like it !! I remember walking out of the show to a very small lot scene. i thought to myself " this must have been like it was in the early days of the Dead." We can make this our scene !! And so it grew!! So did my my intrest in the band.
This was my very first and perhaps, one of the best shows I have been to. It combines so much of what Phish represented in the early 1990's in one show. Great traditional jamming, good integration of acoustic songs, and special guests! Fixin' to Die is my favorite ARU song ,so I was ecstatic to hear it at the E. Since this was my first experience with the great scene, I had a great time being introduced to the lot scene and the twirling hippies in the lit corridors of Hara! I can't believe it's been 18 years!
