This was an interesting show...I kept thinking about the dead playing here just 6 years earlier doing that famous scarlet>fire. I was looking forward to Max Creek which was big when I was in high school. I had seen my initiation to phish just 2 weeks earlier at Goddard so I was gamne for a drive to burlington. Phish blew away Max creek and third world. I had some friends at Castleton and lake bomezeen and we all road up together. It was freezing that night. It was memorable but odd to have phish share a stage in hindsight.

Pretty solid little set. YEM is pretty good, and the first version of Frankenstein is interesting. Trey has kind of a fat, brown noise effect going on, and you can't really hear the horns on the recording, but still OK. The Golgi is pretty messy, but other than that, not too much to knock. Three stars.

This set was not all that in my opinion. The first five songs were just a little off in a lot of places to my ears. It seems as though the boys didn't get their nerves out of the way until YEM. Brain had rough spots too. The recording also left a bit to be desired with fluctuating levels, most notably Trey's guitar was overloading the board channel and the slow tape speed over the years made this a half step flat again. Nice to hear the first Frankenstein though, with a horn section, and Trey does have an interesting octave/phaser type pedal going on in there.

You could pass on this one unless you want to hear the first Frankenstein.

This was fun to listen to. nothing really amazing as far as jamming goes but the Frankenstein had a weird 80's dubstep thing going on with the main riff!
