5/10/92 Spring Fling, UMASS, Amherst, MA

Sounds like they had a nice crowd for this outdoor gig! Fish is on
vacuum for Know.

Standard opening (even the "twang" from Fish ten seconds in). Played
very well.. no spacey "pre-Nirvana" section. Mike's solo section is
at 2:53, and the solo is evil and dreary, but more melodious than
usual. Pre-charge section is good fwiw.. Trey nails the first shot at
"The Note" (sustains it.. it isn't perfectly in tune though). Second
shot at the Note isn't hit very well..

"Boy" at 5:37 after an excellent scream from Trey. Good BMGS/WUDMTF
segment. Signals for the tramps moves during the tramps section..
strong soloing from Page! Decent climax, but nothing amazing. Trey
plays some chords to help close it out, too..

Jam segment at 9:19. This is one of those jam segments that begins
and you *just KNOW* that it is going to rage! Trey seems to have a
Purpose right from the start. By 10:36, Trey is tearing it up --
excellent accompaniment from the others, too! =^] Incredible climax
aroudn 12 mins!!! Trey's playing to impress!

B&D at 12:12.. Fish goes off at first. Mike is really repetitive in
the beginning.. he doesn't start getting Down and Funky until around
12:30. Good B&D (nice accompaniment from Fish and licks from Mike),
but nothing very thrilling in light of this groove these guys
regularly lay down in this section nowadays. Mike still solos fairly
well around 13 mins forward..

Closing WUDMTF segment at 13:40. Vocal jam kicks in at 13:58...
"You're born naked" I think I hear Trey say at one point early in the
VJ. Unusually harmonious VJ.. not bad.. :) Possum kicks in > next.
Total time 16:49.. definitely an above avg '92 version. B- rating.
Simpsons and "All Fall Down" signals in Possum's intro, for those
keeping score.
