The opening of this MikeS is wholly standard (sounds
familiar, huh..).  The jam segment is spooky and
solid, but absolutely nothing in this jam really
moves me.  Too much off-key noise in this version for
me to really dig it.  Irrationality is the only
rationality to this version.  I just don't like it.
Sorry.   H2 kicks in at 7:30 (finally) or so.  Some
staccato from Trey, but otherwise it is beautiful and
standard.  Weekapaug kicks in around 10:30.  'Tis a
solid Weekapaug, but nothing outrageous or more
magnifiscent than usual occurs (including Mike's
opening).  Even though the jams in this version are
occasionally very fast and tight, as a whole, this
trip to Weekapaug is about as exciting as watching
ants pick up a leaf.  Sure, there's action, but it's
fairly predictable and hardly titillating (until you
stomp them).  Sure, this is a great Weekapaug, but
*yawn* there is too much "quiet jamming" in this
version (i.e., a "quiet", almost relaxed yet still
there rhythmically, mode).  The quiet jam in this
version is groovy, and really quite good, but it

doesn't paint pictures of gardens bright with sinuous
rills, or anything Coleridgic.  Trey wails gloriously
around the 17 minute point, though, and the jam
really kicks in the finale.   Nothing special
happens, otherwise.  I liked hearing Yamar before
this 'Groove, though!  (Trey fumbles a little before
the final verse of this 'Groove, I might add)  Total
time is 20:28, but it really isn't as amazing as it
sounds.  5.75 rating (C/C+) (still a MUCH better
version than most from before 1993..).
