Subject:      Ghost Story 3: 7/23/97 Set 2: The Ghost Of Johnnie Wadd Ringing Your Bell
From:         "Martin Acaster" <[email protected]>

Hey Baby

Warning: The following post contains themes of a mature adult nature. By
continuing to read, you acknowledge this warning and accept full
responsibility for having your sensibilities bludgeoned by the super fly
pimpin', velvet hat wearin', earth quakin', big-assed booty shakin,
orgasmic wonder that is the Porno-FUNKin' Ghost of the late great Johnnie
Wadd. To paraphrase the artfully borrowed (hey I thought it was smooth)
words of Corey Lennon(one down three to go) Fields...let's get it on
Baby....how DO you like your eggs???

Lakewood Amphitheater, Atlanta, Georgia, 7/23/97 Set 2 (thanks to Kim
Hannula)

(0:00) The Ghost of Mr. Holmes, not Sherlock, not Oliver Wendell, but John
Holmes (AKA Johnnie Wadd, "The Biggest of Them All") SWELLS into the
amphitheater on the heels of a somewhat unmemorable (I say unmemorable
because I can remember absolutely nothing about it right now) PYITE second
set opener.

The prologue is funky from the outset. The setup for the ghost story is
delivered pretty much flawlessly and conveys a sense of outright wanton
lust. There is just something about it that gives me the feel of some
smooth-dude in a bar laying his best line on a super-fly Betty. It is pure
come-on...page dominates the verse break and is just dancing up and down
the keys in an extended butt-shakin boogie. The prologue comes to a
close(around 3:10) with the last shriek of GHOST!  conveying not fright but
shock....as in... my god...look at the SIZE of that thing....Ooooooh what a
beauty I've never seen one as big as that before....Oooooh what a
beauty...it must be two feet long or maybe more! and the seduction has
begun.

(4:00) Trey and Page are bringing it with a mellow funkatronica shuffle
boogie heavy on the high side working the funk slow and easy however,
almost immediately, the tempo begins to pick up. With every throbbing beat
from fishman it gets a little harder a little faster. Around (5:50) mike
starts hittin' the bottom end low and HARD. This big-bottom groove slowly
slides into a Very familiar disco favorite....Oh Yes....now it's going
ON....By (7:20) or so we are deep inside this disco theme and heading
for..yes it is....it is Anita Wards Ring My Bell....You Can Ring My
Bell....Ring My Bell....the pace lurches forward again...throbbing faster
and faster....funkin harder and harder...At (9:00) this point our Ghost
pulls back just a touch a ring my bell shuffle boogie which just begins to
SOAR....by (11:00) the pace has become antelopian in the nature of the
speed the bell is being rung...Johnnie Wadd just can't keep this UP can he?
Oh Yes he can. Page drives another funk explosion home. Mr. Holmes is
BRINGING IT hard it's heading for a climax...But first he needs to shake it
down a little bit. A very Shakedown style funk groove is on at about
(13:00). Here is where Johnnie Wadd takes it home for the MONEY SHOT. The
funk shifts into overdrive it's working on all cylinders like a well oiled
11-year old Sex Machine should. Mike shifts the groove (16:30) and Trey
slides from overdrive to super nut bustin' hold onto the headboard because
here it comes BABY super raging full on Super mega hose funk that MUST have
soaked everybody in the place....OH YEAH ...show me the money Baby!!!. The
mellow post-orgasmic afterglow is an easy relaxed swing. Visions of Taxi or
Barney Miller come to mind....70's TV theme song music for the
masses....because hell what else are you gonna do after all that....kick
back and relax watching tube with your sweetheart.....the Ghost story comes
to an end as the satellite loses its connection with the downloaded feed
...the signal dissolves into swirling delay loop static with the spaced out
Olaphian interlude closing out at about (24:40) as Sample begins.

The Ghost of Johnny Wadd....may he come again.

who you gonna call
