Subject: Ghost Story #14 6/24/97 Set 2 The Ghost of a Gypsy Queen Enjoy Herself
         in Her Knickerbockers

Hey There

a bizarre synchronicity in this Ghost Story....I sat down to listen to this
Ghost last night...December 9th...Two years ago at the same time I had
fought my way through a blizzard from Reading PA to Albany's Knickerbocker
Arena. That night I enjoyed myself....the infamous Albany YEM was unleashed
on this planet to do with it as it would and continues to do. What a
surprise that 2 years later and 3000 miles away the Ghost of this YEM would
materialize as the 2nd set closer to a show in Strasbourg France.....thanks
to Creg Bradley for the tape.

Ghost Story #14 6/24/97 Set 2 La Laiterie, Strasbourg, France
The Ghost of A Gypsy Queen Enjoying Herself in Her Knickerbockers

The Prologue of this Ghost Story is counted off out of the silence of the
aftermath of a Wading in the Velvet Sea. In its typical fashion it is
lyrically flubless and carried by a buoyant funky rhythm section. The verse
break is extended and Page dominated . The Ghosts!! are somewhat saucy with
a definite lilt of humor a passionate moan of owwwoo comes at the close of
the prologue and the Ghost Story is being told. It is a big boomy
funktronica festival to start with. Trey is leading the way sublimely
accented by some snapping and bombing from mike. The funktronica breaks
down Fish switches gears and it quickly returns after a spell of shuffle
scratch from DJ Herr Necklace. about the 4:20 mark some Ghostly wooo wooo
wooo doooo dooo vocals can be heard drifting around the stage....this seemed
to be a three show experiment for the 6/20 6/22 and 6/24 ghosts....a Ghost
of a Prologue if you will....however it was Character 0 in 6/24... The funk
gets snappier and poppier more scratching and then the Ghost has clawed its
way back onto the stage....it is the Ghost of the Gypsy Queen....I see but
did not hear she was running with Jim in the first set...she is back in all
her knickerbocker wearing glory...this isn't any Gypsy Queen Ghost...this is
the ALBANY YEM JAM Gypsy queen Ghost....the veils between the thousands of
infinite simultaneously occurring universes had thinned...I was back in
Albany...it just keeps going and going and raging harder and harder...more
vocal reprise prologue woooooo wooooo orgasmic ALBANY YEM jam Ghost...the
band and the crowd both were screaming and wooing and moaning...all that it
lacked was a silent jam reprise..I have to ask that Charlie repost his
ALBANY YEM review...this Ghost is very similar...if you like the Albany
YEM...and who doesn't??? you will like this Ghost....I am still stunned....I
am speechless...unable to describe my time-traveling joy adequately...so I
won't try
