Trey first saw Seth play at a guitar workshop – he took second place in Advance Music’s Guitar Summit. When Seth got to join the band on stage in Worcester, MA at the conclusion of the Fall 1998 tour, they decided on that first song Trey had seen him play: an original composition called “All the Pain Through the Years.” He also added guitar licks to the Phish debut of “Layla.” Trey returned the favor on 2/7/02, sitting in with Seth’s blues-rock trio, the Seth Yacovone Band, in New York City. The Phish connection continues today: The Seth Yacovone Band is managed by Furry Thug Productions, one of whose partners is Tom Marshall.
