What happened to my mail order
Purportedly tens of thousands of Phish fans have been left in the dark about the mail orders for the upcoming return-from-the-hiatus shows. Music Today, who provided the ticket lottery services, did not go through the standard procedure for getting a bulk mail certificate (ie approval) from AOL, so all emails sent to AOL addresses bounced. Further, Yahoo and Hotmail filtered the emails to spam/bulk mail folders, which are typically deleted by recipients without even checking what messages they contain. Finally, one report has it that Music Today had not run a ticket lottery before, are Phish fans (so numerous and rabid) are clearly not the group on whom to test new services.
