ZipZam I saw a dozen or so shows between 91 and 94. Guess what, they all kind of sucked, sure some good parts, but a lot of sucky stuff too. You would start out with 500 people and by the time the show was wrapping up, 100 people were still there for the encores. All of Phish 3.0 has been so much better than those earlier years where they were trying to find their sound. I don't know why everyone waxes so poetically about the early years. Just because it was new, small and intimate, doesn't necessarily make it amazing.
