I lucked out and got Alaska my second show at U.S. Dank Arena, Cinci 09' first night. My favorite tune of the night (wait, that was my first fluff as well). Point is, Alaska is a call for celebration when you hear it. Music-wise it reminds me of The Band. Word-wise it reminds me of Tennessee Jed. And Trey (I think just for me) teased Rainy Day Woman #12&35 in his solo of that song that night…to quote Chris Fairly…IT WAS AWESOME!!! It did not kill the set, it birthed a Phish memory that will always come running into my head every time i hear this song!
