MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 100

Welcome to the 100th installment of Mystery Jam Monday here at Phish.net. As usual... Sorry, scratch that. There's nothing "usual" about this week's Mystery Jam. We will (as usual) be playing for an MP3 download, courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. But we're also going to throw in $25 worth of merch from the Phish.net Online Store. As for the MJ itself, much like the Hampton/Winston-Salem MJ, this is a multiple MJ. Therefore, we won't be using the comments to guess this week. Instead, send your SINGLE guess to [email protected] If you have any questions, you can post those in the comments section. The first person to correctly identify the song and the date of each jam will be the winner. One guess per person per day (with the second “day” starting after I post the hint). A hint will be posted on Tuesday (if necessary) and the answer will be posted on Wednesday. In the event no one guesses all of the Mystery Jams, the winner will be selected by the Blog at its sole discretion.

Before I go, I'd just like to say how much fun I've had hosting the Mystery Jam for the last 100 weeks. Hopefully all of you have enjoyed playing. If you have, one great way to show it is by clicking on the "Make a Donation" button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and making a (tax-deductible) donation to the Mockingbird Foundation. Just like Phish.net, the Mockingbird Foundation has an all-volunteer staff, so virtually your entire donation will go towards music education for children. Every donation is appreciated, regardless of size. And this will conclude the pledge-drive portion of the Mystery Jam. Feel free to brag about your donation in the comments, though. Good Luck...

Tuesday Update: We're going to change things up and give everyone an extra day to submit their guesses. Hint tomorrow, answer on Thurs.

Wednesday Hint: No one has solved it yet, though two of you are very close. Here's your hint: In no particular order, the MJs are from '93, '94, '95, '98, '00 and '11. Good luck.

Thursday Answer: Congrats to @bl002e, who managed to come up with all six Mystery Jams. It was hint-aided, but still pretty damn impressive to get all six. In order, they are: (1) 4/2/98 "Stash," (2) 5/28/94 "It's Ice," (3) 11/30/95 "Tweezer," (4) 5/28/11 "Halley's," (5) 4/23/93 "Weekapaug," and (6) 7/1/00 "Ghost." See you all on Monday For MJM Part CI...

GOING TO AC? NEED A FEW GOOD VOLUNTEERS TO HELP MOCKINGBIRD!

Phish.net/Mockingbird Foundation needs a few good men and women to volunteer to help out at the upcoming "First Tube" poster show to be held on Saturday, June 16th from 10 am - 3 pm at the Trump Plaza Hotel, Westminster Room, on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.

We need about six people to work one approximately 2-3 hour shift (~9:30 - 12:15 or ~12:15 - 3:00) at a poster sales table at the show where Mockingbird Foundation, the artists involved and PhanArt Pete Mason will be selling prints and pins to show attendees to benefit the Foundation.

As you probably know, The Mockingbird Foundation is an all volunteer Phish fan charity which was set up in 1997 to benefit music education for kids (we've donated over $720,000 so far), published The Phish Companion books and "adopted" this archival setlist website, Phish.net in 2001 and operate it to this day on a non-commercial, not for profit basis. Mostly the compensation for helping out is warm fuzzies, but you'll meet a lot of nice people and we'll kick down some stuff from the Phish.net store and archival T shirts to thank you for helping. If you're interested, please PM me on the Phish.net site or email [email protected] with subject line "First Tube volunteer". Thanks for your support!

PHISH YOGA FOR MOCKINGBIRD

Phish fan Chris Calarco has been teaching Phish Yoga classes in Portland, OR, starting with a one-off workshop in November 2010 that's turned into a weekly class, with a steady Facebook following. You can join Phish Yoga August 10th in NYC (615-815pm at Yoga Vida), August 18th & 19th in San Francisco (1-3pm at The Center), and September 1st and 2nd in Denver (2-3pm and 1-230 pm, respectively, at Root Yoga Center).

VIDEO OF THE WEEK: 1993-07-21 GLIDE

The idea was thought up by Blues Traveler front-man John Popper, who also spent his youth in Trey's childhood hometown of Princeton, New Jersey. While originally it was called, "Horizons of Rock Developing East Coast," it was changed to "Horizons of Rock Developing Everywhere" soon after. Dozens and dozens of bands ultimately joined the HORDE throught the years in addition to inaugral members Widespread Panic, Aquarium Rescue Unit, the Spin Doctors, The Samples, and Phish. The festival was a huge success and its final concert took place on September 5, 1998 in Portland, Oregon.

On 7/21/93, Phish played a one set show as a part of the H.O.R.D.E. tour. Phish opened with 2001 and encored with Daniel Saw The Stone. Towards the end of the song, Trey apologized for not playing longer, but said that they had run out of time. According to a review by SlaveFan, the band was given a five minute signal after Purple Rain. Be sure to check it out as well. The Blues Traveler setlist for that show is available thanks to the folks over at archive.org and their wonderful Wayback Machine. Widespread Panic's set can be found here.

Every Friday, we highlight a video with a brief recap of the show it is from and what makes it interesting, noteworthy or simply fun. With the help of Dan Saewitz from Phishvids.com, we hope to keep the stream of videos coming at you entertaining and interesting. Have a cool video you’d like to suggest? Interested in contributing a review yourself? Submit ideas here.
