MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 172

Greetings, and welcome to another rare edition of Mystery Jam Monday: Phish.net After Dark. (Not to be confused with Peach Pit After Dark — as smooth as this clip is, I assure you MJM #172 is most definitely no David Silver jam.)

Per usual, this week's winner will receive an MP3 download courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery jam clip. Each person gets one guess per day, with the second “day” starting after I post the hint. A hint will be posted on Tuesday if necessary, with the answer to follow on Wednesday. Good luck!

Answer: @PersnicketyJim is officially en fuego with his third MJM in the last four contests, impressively IDing the 7/29/97 Run Like An Antelope. Bravo!

Make sure to check back here tomorrow for a very exciting announcement regarding MJM, as well as a brand-new Mystery Jam contest.

ucpete I can't tell if that squeaky noise is a strange Trey loop or a recording artifact... either way it gives us an idea of the era.

Yup!

I thought it was '96 maybe '98 but not '97. Nice win.

WayIFeel You're el fuego lately.

ucpete Christ @PersnicketyJim, you're on fire! It sounded familiar and sure enough I had listened to and reviewed that show a mere two months ago:

Unfortunately (for MJM identification purposes), I have listened to about 60 new shows since then including all of Summer '97 so I'd've'd (triple contraction FTW!) a lot of wading to do... pun intended ;)

mcgrupp81 Nice get! When I first heard this, it sounded like a transition into Antelope or Lizards. Lucky bastards that got to go to Summer 97 shows. Enjoy the week folks!

tek9rifleskills thought it was 97, now i'm listening to the most coolest antelope I've heard in a long time, a type II'er, never heard anything like this

This is my problem too. I can usually pinpoint the year, sometimes pinpoint the tour, but beyond that its a crab in my shoemouth.

Yeah, thats what makes it so fun/frustrating! Last MJM, I started on 7/26/03. I was in the right damn week! Alas, P. Jim is swift.

bostonron I was just listening to this on my summer '97 kick a few weeks ago.
