Blackeydsloth Ok wow what can I say. I actually never listened to this Bowie (I should say show) anyway, Trey really needed to give up on some of the teases at the beginning I kind of got bored with it. It looked to me as if Mike was like ok enough Trey let's play this song already. I do like when they experiment with the start but that just got to me. Ok so the Bowie itself I loved it I could listen over and over again without the intro.
As for the video it was really good video I thought especially for 1990 yeah. part was great part 2 when camera man started doing this in/out side/side in/out wow holy crap slow down. Made me sick to my stomach like a bad roller coaster ride.
But over all it was a great video and great bowie, thank you for posting it and can't wait til next friday.
Peace

AugustWest2001 Best Bowie intro ever!!!!!!!! I had this show on minidisc years ago. Yet another antiquated format. I LOVE this show. Definitely a major highlight of '90 and the early days. So crucial.

tmwsiy In a delicious twist of fate, Shapiro picks this Bowie as part of Live Bait Vol. 06 released today. What a coincidence!

FWIW, this video was filmed by Ben "Junta" Hunter and was originally posted on his blog. I'd give a link but I just tried to google it and can't find it. In any event, he explained there, his penchant at the time for trying to "choreograph" the video to the changes in the song and how he went a little overboard with it.

Cavitate Big fan of the Friday Video Treat. Gems from the early years are fun for nostalgia and comparison sake. It is great to see that even then, there were those obnoxious guys doing the synchronized jumping. The 90's video is campy and fun, but...as much as we all love a good in and out, this one was a bit much. Looking forward to next week's vid, as well as immediately going to Live Phish to download some Bait

kevinAreHollo Obnoxious or not, it looks like Trey loves the jumping. Give me creative dancing over the Tier 2 Hippie Head-Bob any day.

I had a foggy notion this was his video...I PMed the YouTube uploader to see if I was correct and get any add'tl info about the video but I got no response. Interesting!

Right on thank you didn't know anything about that. I had to minimize my page and listen to the rest of the song after watching that for like a min or so. I kept looking to see if it was still going and it was.

@The rest of you's about the teases
Sorry I personally just thought it went a little overboard on them. Don't get me wrong I love teases that intro just got to much for my liking. The rest of Bowie wow loved it.

there is 13, there all right there in the write up on the video.

"Teases in the intro to Bowie included a medley of Possum, Mockingbird, Forbin's, Divided Sky, Lawn Boy, Landlady, Mike's Song, The Asse Festival, Lizards, Foam, Hood, Lengthwise, and Makisupa Policeman."

findyourcity This was my first tape back in the day, and whatta show. The YEM and the Mikes > Gruv are sick. Love the Possum > Asse Fest > Possum. Classic stuff. Also, I never see it traded but my tape had the soundcheck and man it was Nasty! Seek it out, thick Mike groove, awesome stuff and maaad funy for 90 phish.

But the main reason I'm posting, I love the idea of tasty rare vids trickling out. My easy #1 request for vid is the Kesey madness of 8/14/97. Never seen any vid from that but I'm pretty sure it exists. It was, probably more than any other show I've seen, a trip for the eyes. From Kesey himself, to the look on the band's faces, to the frankenstein dude running on stage on fire, to the bozo creature things running around in the crowd. Some of the most fun I've ever had. Vid of that whole second set would be amazing to have.

Cbucketsfactory Nice Bowie. I think some vomit danced up to the back of my throat. I feel sick now. Someone should've snatched that camera and slapped him for what he was doing. Shame on you 90's camera guy :-(

Blackeydsloth Wow I got a negative score? For what? not liking the tease intro to the bowie? really? or because I actually liked the rest? Or maybe its because the video part 2 made me sick? Fuck off whoever you are. I thought people were allowed to have opinions.

Yes you are allowed to have opinions and then people are allowed to thumb you down if they think your opinion sucks. Thats kind of how the how thing works. Just as I am going to thumbs down your opinion because I think it is awesome how they throw in all these teases of the songs they previous played this night. Something like this is why Phish is so awesome. This is my opinion, and you are free to thumbs me down. But come on really? You really think this really "bored" you? I hope they do this at Dicks!

Phishvids.com has the video of Forbin thru Camel Walk for that show. Just looked for it cause of what you wrote. Real good stuff. Video is pretty good quality too for 97

Fees_Nipple Awesome vid!!! However the camera guy needs a punch in the head...cut it out with the zoom already! I almost had a seizure watching this. Awesome jams and teases :)
